It is a puzzle strategy video game developed for Nintendo's GameCube. Its a sequel to the 2001's Pikmin.

You are captain Olimar, a space traveller who is big on lousy luck but tiny in the physique. The story continues the Olimar's adventures as he come-back to the planet of the Pikmin. He wants to collect the artefacts to be able to exchange them for Pokos. Hocotate Freight, the Olimar employer, is in debt of ten thousand Pokos, so his ship is being recovered. 1. There's an addition of new companion in the game named Louie. He is entirely controllable. Players can change between the two at any time.
   
2. A new addition to the game is underground caves. After finding the entrance, you can enter the caves with the help of your Pikmin. You will get a warning as what harm awaits you, which allows you to choose the suitable Pikmin. There will be a scary zoo of creatures in the underground caves.
   
3. You can use potions which give many attributes to the Pikmin. The bitter potion will convert the enemies into stone, while the spicy one will increase your Pikmin speed and attacking power.
   
4. There are extra modes that will help you to increase the game time. There is a two-player battle mode that will put you against a friend, and there's a split-screen mode that will need you to collect four yellow marbles on the map.
   
5. The 30-day system is not in the play anymore. The players are now free to explore the Pikmin world at their ease. However, there is still the day and night system, so players need to work toward finishing their tasks before the sunsets.
